STEVE LAWRENCE
Comedy Writer
ALL ABOUT STEVE
Why are you here? Why are any of us here?
I'm a comedy writer with experience in comics, radio, television, film and interactive storytelling, I've been part of the BBC Comedy Room, the first BBC Writersroom Scottish Voices group and I'm currently a member of BAFTA Connect.
Sitcom is my great passion but I've also had lots of fun working on branded content, written for Comic Relief and I'm a card carrying script editor.
Will trade words for money.
PETER CROUCH: LIFE GOALS
Coming Soon?
One of the hardest things about being a writer is that sometimes you're not allowed to talk about the very cool things you're working on and then when they don't get made people are left to wonder 'what does Steve even do with his time?'
One such project involved James and I working with genuine hero / football legend / robot enthusiast Peter Crouch devising a sitcom about his life after the game.
The project is in something of a purgatory at the moment as Crouchy continues to dominate the world of punditry and podcasting BUT he does mention it in his latest bestselling book (p.47-48 if you want to check) calling the scripts 'excellent', saying our actual names and teasing it could happen someday.
That would be nice.
